I need help with the care of an Alzheimer's patient.?

My Grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimers about 2 years ago. It was around the time my Grandfather died. She is currently in the advance stages of Alzheimers. She has been checked out by a doctor and physically she is as healthy as a horse! But mentally, she's really bad. I don't think she really knows who I am. She knows I'm family but not that I am her granddaughter. My Uncle had been taking her to this Adult Day Care Center for quite some time, and they would take care of her while he was at work. But thanks to the economy, it's too expensive to take her there everyday. So my Uncle brings her over to our (my parents and mine) house. My mother takes care of her, but for most of the time she is sitting in front of the tv. My question is: does anyone know of any games, or computer games, or activites that I can do with my Grandmother that would help improve her mind? I know there is no cure for Alzheimers but anything has to be better for her mind then watching tv. Like I said she is in advanced stages so it might be a little difficult to find anything. She does react to the shows she is watching (she likes "The Golden Girls") but I want to find something more stimulating. I was ever thinking of just getting a coloring book or Candyland. Something simple that she could possibly understand. Does anyone else have any ideas or are in this situation that have any suggestions? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

There are a lot of people out there who will have before marriage and still preach about how much of a christian they are. I also think that just because you go to church that doesn't necessarily mean that you are any more christian than someone who doesn't attend. Full screen videos keep restoring down, Graphics card problems?

Hey first off your laptop should be able to run full screen videos fine. However I can tell you from experience the whole video card problem is not just you. I have an HDX18 that I put win7 on and started getting the bluescreen everyday (and still am). I also got the same type of bugcheck and what not. I have an nvidia card so I have a feeling it's something to do with going from vista to win7 or HP's drivers. Also check when your videoo card was last updated, see that's about when the problem started. I'm using a 1 1/2 year old driver on mine which has helped a little. I've researched a ton and still nothing yet. Good Luck. Also run a full virus scan if you haven't lately.

Well, you sarcastic little madam (or should that be mister?) All children should be taught to be non violent and self sufficient. Boys should be taught through good parents and experience how far they can go ually, and how to best control the physical advantage they will have over most girls. By the same token I believe girls should be taught, and will learn through experience, to become aware of their ual attractiveness to men and how to avoid unwanted ual situations. One of my most embarring moments was when, during airport security, last year after the London terrorists attacks, security was obviously really high, so they were going through everyone's EVERYTHING. So they were going through my carry on and the guy checking my stuff went through a pocket, took out a tampon, held it up, and went "What is zeez??" and inspected it for a few minutes, up in the air the whole time. How to ignore other people arguing or bickering at each other?

I live with two males. I am 23 years old and the two guys I live with are 25 and 22 years old. One has anger issues and gets depressed a lot and also likes to think he is the head of the household when indeed its entirely the opposite. The other male is less dominating but is also very emotional and overly opinionated. Often during the day the two of them will start arguing over ridiculous topics or they will start bickering at each other over cleaning or how things should be put away or anything along those lines. It seems to be seldom when they actually get along well enough to have a normal conversation. Now I am trying to explore different ways of de-stressing naturally and without medication and taking care of my emotions. When they argue and bicker at one another it always seems to hit me the hardest emotionally and this is taking a toll on me. I actually call myself a "Procrastinative Learner", which isn't a real term, but I really do better on my work if I do it all at one time, at the last second. Procrastination is totally normal, and although a lot of people would say it's a bad habit and will only get worse as you get older, I believe that it actually helps. So if you actually feel like changing your ways, just keep telling yourself that after you finish all your work, you'll have so much more time to do other things. That might motivate you enough to just get it done early.

I was on yahoo answers just looking at random questions. Some girl said she lost 15 pounds in a week by only drinking water. First it depends on how much you weigh. The more you weigh, the more you can lose. Secondly, it's really risky. Something that happens to a lot of people, and me as well, is that you cut out your favorite foods (bread, pasta, etc). It's easy the first week or so but then you'll start to crave it and most end up binging making you gain back all the weight you previously lost. Just keep doing what you're doing, eat healthier, only when you're hungry, and don't eat after 7P.M.

Okay, so after being a fabulous golden blonde for the past four years (WAAA :( ..) I got bored of the expence and roots constantly so decided to opt for a bit of change.. feeling rebellious I threw a red shade of XXL Live into my hair... it was fab and a greta change, but feded rapidly.. SO i redyed it a week later... it was then I decided I absolutely hate being a red head, and wanna go back blonde. THEN I discover red is one of the hardest pigments to get out of hair as it just clings, ESPECIALLY to blonde hair :( FML. Sooooo, being the broke *** student I am, I took matters into my own hands, and bleached my hair using a home bleaching kit... it did lighten my hair dramatically, and remvoing the red in some places but still leaving a slight tinge... I then threw in a light brown dye.. but it has come out terrifically bad. My hair is a mousy brown with red in the front and fading in areas to reveal bleached white hair. :|... I have now called my hair dresser for highlights hoping to help this problem........... I KNOW the damage I have done to my hair is terrible, it's brittle and in bits.. but could anyone give a bit of input, advice.. is this a good idea (obviously not for the care of hair), but do you think it'll help patch up the problem slightly... Why does my charging system light go on and off while driving?

I have a 93 ford taurus 3.8L V6 automatic GL. The other day my charging system light started coming on in my car. It will come on and stay on for awhile and then go off. It has been doing this for two days straight. I have a battery/alternator tester that plugs into my cigarette lighter. The battery and alternator test find when the charging system light is off but when it comes on the alternator tests bad. Does this mean the alternator is going bad or what? Why is the charging light coming on and going off over and over? My alternator is about 2 1/2 years old and my battery is six months old.

Why do I get diarrhea after eating fish?

I like fish and have always been able to eat it all my life without a problem, until now. I can eat sushi, I can eat "fish and chip" fish. I can eat tuna sandwiches. I can eat lobster, I can eat prawns, I can eat oysters. These things don't effect me. What does effect me is fish from a nice restaurant, whether it's salmon or flat head or whatever, I end up feel sick an hour later. I have to race to the bathroom becuase my body just wants it gone. Afterwords I get the chills and feel like crap, like exhausted and drained. This rarely happens when I make fish at home, but now sometimes it does. The last time I got sick from fish was in the US, now I'm in Australia and the same thing happened. Why would I feel this way, what the heck is wrong with me? Kawasaki ninja 250R questions from a n00b?

Okay guys, i have quite a few questions, considering im completely sportbike illiterate..I've never known, or researched ANYTHING about them today. Can I get into Babson College?

Hi everyone, i'll just give a quick rundown. PSAT scores were: 71 Critical Reading, 63 Writing, 57 Mathematics for a selection index of 191. WIth tutoring and other things I expect a perfect score on critical reading, and high 600's as the minimum scores for math and writing. Unfortunately, my gpa is very low, at about a 3.1 (I had a 3.28 at end of freshman year, but a rough sophmore year). I should be able to raise this a good couple of points, maybe a 3.2-3.4+ish. However, my school (it's public) is one of the top 500 in the country, and is known to be fairly tough. It is in a small town near boston. One of the main reasons my gpa is so low is spanish, which I have gotten C's and C+'s in regular level cles. I take two AP's, English+History. Two honors, Chemistry and Pre-Calculus. This year I might pull off a B or B+ in spanish, but I'm not sure. Other than spanish I really get fine grades. They are in partial shade, and i watered them about 3 times. WIll they be ok? Now for my morning glories, some of seeds from last year survived and came up in my flowerbed all messy and stuff, they were already big already too, some were about 4 inches tall and starting to vine. I dug up some gr near my fence, and put them in and put soil and mulch around them. But they are wilted too now. I watered them lots. I have did this before, and they looked like that but they always survived, but i'm not sure this time. Any advice? Tips? Thanks in advance!

I have a laptop running ubuntu and the only other computer in my house is on the bottom floor (in a 3 story house) and my room is all the way upstairs. Is there a way to record it from your tv then transfer files to your computer without having to plug everything in simultaneously? Can I play my games in HD (using my hdmi cable), but record then in standard definition? The main problem is that I dont want to spend a huge mount of money and i cant stand to play my xbox on anything but HDMI (or possibly hd av cables which my tv doesnt have). Does my computer really need to be hooked up while I am playing? And is there any sort of capture card that just captures what is on the tv screen rather than hooking everything and running it through the xbox then back to the tv and to the computer? My TV also had a usb port if that could help anything and as i mentioned before it has the RGB PC input. Again, my net-book runs ubuntu linux and the only other computer (which has windows xp) is all the way downstairs. I want a capture card that cad record at least decent quality while perhaps still allowing me to play in full hd... Why are bulimics promiscuous?

Usually people who are bulimic have body issues or problems with their self esteem. Having people notice you, compliment you, etc makes you feel good and it raises your self esteem and makes you feel good. So, that's what I would think. I have never been bulimic but friends of mine are / have been so this is just what I have been told. Also, a lot of times, there is an underlying issue that is hard for the affected person to deal with. Perhaps that is why. Acceptance?

ok so my story is a little complicated but hopefully someone has some good answers. Theres this girl I have been talking to for a month. I knew her before we started talking seriously thru my best friend who had been dating her. So we became friends thru him but we never really talked or seen each other much other than when they where havng problems. So they broke up and it was messy and he told me he had not even had with her. She actually had told him she really didnt want to date because she was not ready and she was focused on her kid and work but she went ahead and dated him. So anyway, after they broke up she had called me a couple of times and we talked, I mean we were still friends and nothing more. We went out one night to the club and she got a little drunk so I stayed sober to make sure she didnt get into any trouble. That night she would dance ually on me and I really didnt do much to her because she was drunk and I just couldnt take advantage of that. So anyway we continued to talk after that and hang out a couple of times and she asked me if I had feelings for her. So I told her that it was to early to tell but that I did like her it was just weird because she was my bestfriends ex. So we continued to talk and and hang out and one of those nights she had asked me if I wanted to sleep over because it was late but I couldnt because I had no cloth and I had to work in the morning. She has even bent over in front of me while I am sitting down with her in my face, she could have easily tuned the other way and she would smile and say im sorry. Now its not that i am not attracted to her its just I wanted to take things slow this time and not let confuse things. So one night we are in my truck and she tells me that how come I dont look at her and how do I feel about her. SO I tell her that I know she is beautiful and I dont need to look at her constantly to remind me of it and that I did like her. I also told her that I know I am probably what she is not use to but that I am good for her. She said she agreed and that what she is use to is not working so she would have to get unuse to that and more to me and that she really liked me. That same night she gave me a really long hug. So let me add that at this point she would text me to say hi and to let me know she was thinking of me and stuff like that. So a couple of weeks go by and I tell her lets go to a movie and dinner and she said wow a date I would love to. So before the date I didnt hear from her for two days almost and her texting me almost stopped completely, she would only respond when I would text her. The date went good even though the baby came with us. She didnt have to much time to get ready but she looked beautiful either way. during the movie she layed her head on my shoulder and I layed mine on her head and we snuggled throughout the movie. I would tease her on the ride home and tewll her I was trying to hold her hand but she moved hers and she said had she known that she would not have moved her hand. So lets just say I held her hand and she squeezed mine. I also had told her I am a patient man but that I wouldnt wait forever. So the next day I went to Indiana on work related business and I got one text from her after I had text her and a failed call attempt because she was busy and said she would call me back but never did. So I text her the next day to tell her I was on my way home from indiana. Keep in mind she had asked me to. I didnt hear from her at all. So two days go by and nothing. So i text her and she responds by saying I started school again and have been busy with work. I had completely forgot about that.
