How do I tutor this kid?

I am in 8th grade and i was picked by the school counselor to tutor this kid. He is in 7th grade because he failed it last year and now he's going to again if he does get better grades. I've never tutored a kid before. I gave him a benchmark practice test thing today and he missed 6 out of 20 and if you don't include the ones i helped him on he only got 5 right. What do i do he said he doesn't pay attention in cl so hes probably on like a 6th grade math level. any printable worksheets or advice would be great
