How can I clean vegetables with vinegar?

I am supposed to do a science project and I am going to clean vegetables with white distilled vinegar and see which vegetable was cleaned best. I am not sure how to do that? My teacher wanted me to change projects on short notice so i haven't gotten to research much. Some websites or instructions with reviews would work too.
