If Indonesia is a democracy, why is it virulently antisemitic?

The Indonesians call for the death of Israel and the Jews, and Megawati Sukarnoputri, Indonesia's former president and Sukarno's daughter, praised the antisemite former Malaysian premier Mahathir Mohammed's speech claiming Jews run the world by proxy! Is this because Megawati is an antisemitic Muslim, or is this because her father was a pro-Japanese war criminal? I thought democracies are progressive and tolerant! After WW2, Dutch Jews fled Indonesia! I wonder if the Indonesians were killing them like in other Muslim nations?
